As universities adapt and respond to the demand for innovative remote learning opportunities, three of our clients have been using the simulations to support their teaching.
Manchester Business School has been using Finance Lab Pro with its Global MBA students, who accessed the simulation for a series of academic workshops from countries across the world. Two of the students spoke about their experience:
“This is a great tool to educate us about investing and help us develop skills which are not only trading-specific but also valuable for business.”
“It helped me to gain knowledge of analysing companies and macro events that are relevant to stock evaluations as well trading like professionals. You can’t get this type of knowledge just from reading text-books.”
Saxion University hosted an inter-university Finance Lab Pro online event which involved their own students competing in cross-campus pairs with students from Fulda and Steyr Universities in Europe, and Humber College in Canada. The project helps Saxion fulfil its commitment to Collaborative Online International Learning activities.
The University of South Wales used Dealing Room for a series of online outreach events in May and June. The initiative provided 200 prospective undergraduates from Years 11-13 with an insight into the skills and psychology of investing.
The resource brings students together in an enjoyable, competitive and stimulating way. The simulations are accompanied by the Investus workshop and accompanying key competencies framework, which is being used by business schools as well as by companies such as PwC.
